EURO COLLECTION

Privacy policy

Last updated: 23 October 2026.

Who is responsible for the service

Euro Collection operates this service. This policy explains how account and collection data is handled when you use it.

Information we process

We process the e-mail address, username, selected country, password hash, two-factor security settings, exchange-participation preference, and collection records you provide. If you use notifications or the report-a-problem feature, we also process the content you submit and the security records needed to operate those features. A random browser identifier and its first and most recent activity times are stored for aggregate visitor and online-presence statistics; the visitor record does not store a name, e-mail address, or raw IP address.

Why we use it

Visitor statistics also store the approximate country of the most recent visit. The server looks up the connection IP address in a local country database without sending it to a geolocation provider or storing the raw IP address in the visitor record. Administrators see country totals, not a list of identified visitors.

We use this information to create and protect your account, store your collection, provide the features you request, prevent abuse, respond to support requests, and maintain the reliability and security of Euro Collection. The account and collection processing is necessary to provide the service; security logging and abuse prevention are necessary to protect the service and its users.

Visibility and community features

You may choose a town or village in your profile. This optional location is shown to matching exchange participants and can be cleared in profile settings. Settlement search uses a local GeoNames catalogue; your searches are not sent to GeoNames.

Collector profiles are public and collections contribute to community statistics and rankings. Exchange is enabled by default and can be disabled in profile settings. Participating collectors can look up another collector by their exact username or email address to compare duplicates. Email addresses are not displayed in comparison results.

Nearby exchange matching is optional. If enabled, we store your chosen meeting coordinates and travel radius to find overlapping areas. Other collectors see your username and the match, not your coordinates. Disabling the option deletes your saved point. Opening the map loads tiles from OpenStreetMap, whose servers receive your IP address and the viewed map area.

Service providers and international transfers

Euro Collection is hosted on the operator’s private server. Account and support emails are delivered through our email service provider, Brevo. The optional Statistics map may load Google Charts from gstatic.com; if it is unavailable, the app uses bundled map data.

Google sign-in is optional. If you choose it, Google authenticates you and provides your verified email address and Google account identifier so we can create, link or sign in to your Euro Collection account. We do not receive your Google password or retain Google access or refresh tokens. You can also register with a username, email address and password.

Retention and deletion

Your account data is retained while your account exists. You can permanently delete your account from profile settings after confirming your password. Deletion removes your personal collection and account data that can be safely removed. Administrator-created records may require reassignment or retention to preserve catalogue integrity and auditability.

Delete your Euro Collection account

In the Android app or on the website, sign in, open Profile settings, choose Delete account, enter your password and confirm permanent deletion. If you registered with Google and have no local password, use the support option below.

You can also request deletion without installing the app: email info@eurocollection.eu from your registered email address, or use our contact form. State your username and that you want your Euro Collection account and associated data deleted. Never send us your password. We may ask you to verify ownership before completing the request.

Account deletion removes your account, saved collection, exchange records and support messages linked to the account from the live service. For support messages sent without signing in or by email, include that request when contacting us; after verifying ownership, we remove those messages within 30 days. Administrator-created catalogue content must be transferred before an administrator account can be deleted.

Server-managed backups expire after 30 days. Deleted data may remain in these restricted backups until they expire and is not used to provide the live service. Administrators must apply the same 30-day limit to any downloaded copies and must reapply completed deletion requests if a backup is restored.

Your rights and choices

You can update your username (subject to the one-year change limit), country, exchange setting, and password in profile settings. To request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or to raise a privacy concern, use the contact form. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
